Blind Taste Testing

 Hello boys and girls,

Today for our Second day of Science we taste tested different foods. we had 9 different foods. We were in pears. I was with Tane. I tasted first and we only got through 9 foods. here our my guess in the table below.

Australian Bush Fires

 Hello boys and girls,

Today I am going to be telling you about natural disasters. Well one which was the Australian bush fires. I'm going to tell you where, who has it affected and what caused it, so lets get started.

The fires started because of a lightning strike.Also the changing of the climate might have caused the fire and helped it spread.

The fire started around Hawkesbury, Hunter Valley, Cudgegong, Blue Mountains and Central Coast local in Australia.

It affected about 143 million mammals, 180 million birds, 51 million frogs and 2.5 billion reptiles were affected by the fires. 15 million acres of land has been burnt to the ground from the fire. 1,400 homes have been destroyed. 41,000 koalas were killed or harmed by the ferocious fires. There was about 445 deaths.

The Start of the Bush fires started about June 2019. The fire was extinguished on 10 February 2020.

 I have learnt that about over a billion animals were killed or harmed from the fires. I really want to learn about Space like the moon landing or facts about different stars and planets.

What We Did:  We did pacific navigation reading Studied on the Movie Wonder
What I Learned:  That Kupe is an Hero Kupe was the first to discover Aotearoa Getting better at punctuation and detailed Writing
My Favourite Parts: I liked Watching the Movie Wonder I also liked reading about Kupe and the giant wheke
My Next Steps: Finishing my work on time  Asking for help

Hurumanu 2 Learning Story

Today I am going to be showing you my Learning story from Hurumanu 2, here it is.

My Learning Story
Hurumanu: 2		Moulde: Coding Unplugged
Name: Kody	Teacher: Ds			Term: 2
Reflection: Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.
What We Did:  Long division We learned how to use mihi maker. We learned stuff about dance party. We followed a tutorial to learn how to use coding and how to programme our sprites.
What I Learned:  I learned how to code properly. 7 times tables and 11 times tables
My Favourite Parts: I liked coding because it was just really fun and I enjoy it. I also liked the number of the day.
My Next Steps: Learning how to turn fractions into decimals and percentages because I wasn’t good at it.
CARR Values:  Make a statement below describing how you showed each of our CARR values during this Hurumanu.
Commitment I brought all my things to class like my chrome and my pencil case.		Achievement I try to do the best work I can do.

Woodtech

 Hello boys and girls,

Step 1/intro

This term for we have been doing Woodtech. We have it Period 4 on a Tuesday and period 3 on a Thursday. We have been making speakers. The First thing we did is get a piece of wood which looks like a rectangle. We had 2 pieces of wood, one was the front and the other was the back. Then we marked out holes with a marker to see where we were gonna drill them. 

Step 2

Then We drilled out our holes. I started on the back and when I finished the back I worked on the front. When we finished that we Put the box together. We got 2 Thick  rectangular wood bits for the sides of the box and got this small thick bit of wood for the ends. We had to glue them together so we clamped the wood so it wouldn't move and glued it and waited for it to dry than added the nails and the box was know finished but we know had to put in the the electronics.

Step 3

Then we painted our boxes, I added white to every colour on my box. So when I put red on it turned to pink, and when I put yellow on It was a really light yellow, and I added lots of other colours like purple, green, blue and just white. I reckon the colours on my box looked very cool. My favourite colour on my box was the purple.

Step 4 

For step two we drilled 2 massive holes on the front of our box. Now we are adding the mesh and the actual speakers to the two holes that we made. First we hot glued the mesh over the The hole from the inside. When We did that we added the speaker part. The part where the sound comes out of.

Step 5

Now we have to solder If you don't know what that Is it is like if you have to bits of wire. Then you get some solder and use this really hot thing, I don't know what it is called and melt it onto the wire it it basically connects them together. So I we got battery pack and solders the together because t had wires and got a switch for a light that we put onto it. When we finished all that we put battery in and tested it out to see if the light was gonna turn on.
